DJ Mark Font

Spanish born, DJ Mark Font, takes sound design to a whole new level, offering depth and introspection to all his carefully tailored live sets. His 7 year residency in Ibiza has earned him a weekly spot on David Moreno’s show ‘Ibiza Dance’ on Ibiza’s Global radio, and regular appearances across the island as he continues to excel in pushing boundaries; fusing eclectic house with funky techno.

Mark Font was born in Barcelona in 1980 and spent the next two decades soaking up all that Spain had to offer musically. In 1996, he had already embarked on a DJing journey which, inspired by a constant search for innovation, was set to flourish.

To this day, his love of dance floor rhythms drives him, whether playing to big venues, underground clubs or small private gatherings. As a DJ, he pays little heed to styles or labels, instead keeping mindful of the purpose of a session and assessing what any given audience needs to inspire dance. He tailors his sets by mixing the most eclectic house with the funkiest side of techno and delivering it with his own unique style. His sophisticated approach, refined track selection and well honed technical skills, give him a signature sound that, as priority, always keeps the groove alive.

Determined to expand his repertoire even further, he moved to London in 2003; where he performed in several nightclubs including Lockside, Club93, Lorca, ArchOne and Death Disco. At the same time, he collaborated with many music acts at countless private parties.

In 2005, he settled on the Island of Ibiza, where he currently lives and regularly plays in major venues including Eden (with the promoter MonoLoco), Grial, (where he was a resident DJ, summer 2009), Guarana, Delano, Izay, SushiPoint, El Club, Somni and Soto. He also has a weekly spot on Global Radio for David Moreno’s show “Ibiza Dance”.

He combines his work on the island with performances on the Peninsula, in clubs like Disco Ambit (Igualada), Stereo Club (Barcelona), Mimettica (Madrid) and The Face and Spook (Valencia). He also toured across South America in 2009, including playing at the renowned ‘Fullmoon Party’ in Gamboa (Salvador de Bahia, Brazil).

Mark masterfully achieves a complex multi textured sound by using only the minimum necessary elements. His structures are free and lead to a high degree of improvisation on stage. His music is fresh, danceable and intelligent - resulting in a matchless rhythm that is utterly gripping.

“It is always exhilarating to see DJs that put performance before ego. Mark Font really delivers a thoroughly professional and compelling mix every time…”
