Frau Contrabass

The duo, Katharina Debus and Hanns Jeering - both German by birth – met in 1998 and, in spring 2003, decided to create FrauContrabass.

Vocalist, Katharina Debus, born in 1979, came to Berlin in 1999 with the musical 'RENT'. The musical left, Katharina didn’t.
Since then she has sung in numerous Berlin bands and works in studios all over Europe, as well as performing in Japan, Malaysia, USA and Russia. She is currently a member of the vocal ensemble 'Stouxingers'.

Contrabassist, Hanns Jeering, was born in 1972. Hanns has performed all over the world. He is a multiple Jazz award winner. He performs regularly on albums and advertising productions and is a weekly TV presence in Germany. He is also a lecturer in Contrabass and Electric bass in the Peter Kornelius Conservatoire in Mainz.

Frau Countrabass – the duet:

The voice - she sings and whispers or swings and blazes.
The bass - thick and percussive or soft and inflammatory.
Together they masterfully recite big music in miniature format.
