Coming from a family rich in musical talent, music was an obvious choice for Stevie - he began studying piano at the age of seven, swapping to guitar at the age of ten. After graduation, he studied singing with his mother, who was a voice teacher and choir director for the Columbus Boys Choir in Ohio.
After two years in the Marine Corps, he attended Austin Community College in Texas and earned an Associates Degree in Business Management.
Post education, Stevie played with various bands with many different styles. Whilst touring, Stevie opened for numerous top acts including Natalie Cole, The Isley Brothers and Stevie Wonder.
The union of Stevie Woods and Jack White was, for both, the start of a promising career and led to the production of the albums 'Take Me to Your Heaven' (Atlantic Records, America), 'The Woman in My Life', 'Attitude' and the hit single 'Rock me Baby' (Ariola/BMG, Germany). These endeavours earned Stevie continuous listings in the Pop Charts Top 100 Billboards internationally and also led to a good number of television appearances in Germany and America.
In Germany, Stevie toured with Udo Jürgens and the Pepe Lienhard Orchestra until he was offered the part of the old Steam Train 'Poppa McCoy' in the worldwide production of the musical, 'Starlight Express'. After 4 years, Stevie hung up his roller skates and took the part of 'Dr. Prospero' in the Musical, 'Shakespeare & Rock´n´Roll' in Berlin, Germany. This was followed by various performances such as the voice of the plant 'Audrey II' in the German and American versions of 'Little Shop of Horrors'.
Stevie's vocal talents can also be heard on the official recordings of 'Starlight Express', 'Shakespeare & Rock´n´Roll' and the German production of 'Little Shop of Horrors'.
Stevie has just completed the production of his own CD, 'A Quiet Storm', in the Nite Train Entertainment Recording Studio in Germany.
